How They’re Made
The metal printing process involves a few simple steps in a process called dye sublimation.
First, your printing partner will take your artwork and print it onto transfer paper which is then attached to a pre-treated, coated aluminum sheet. Then, these materials are placed in a custom heat press which allows the dyes to convert to a gas. The temperature in this heat press can get as warm as 380 degrees Fahrenheit!
These gaseous dyes adhere to the surface of the aluminum sheet and after they cool, your metal print is finished. You now have a permanent, vivid image on a metal surface!
